With the coronavirus situation being very fluid, please be sure to check back to this page for updates to our operating schedule:

At Columbus Event Center, our goal is to provide a safe and fun place for kids and families to enjoy. While we'd love nothing more than to provide everyone a place to go to get away from these recent troubles and concerns, we also recognize that doing so could potentially do more harm than good. We are currently considering a number of changes to our operating schedule. With a number of different programs and activities available, we will do our best to not disrupt any programming we are still able to offer while remaining within the suggested guidelines of local health officials. Please read below for the latest updates, and check back frequently for new posts.

UPDATE - May 13, 2020:
Columbus Event Center is still required to remain closed to the public at least through May 31st. We will have additional updates on opening to the public in full as soon as we receive updated direction from the State of Nebraska. In the meantime, we would like to offer our facility to private rentals for any reason. Looking for somewhere to take your family to get out of the house? Have a recent birthday you weren't able to celebrate? Ready to close out the current school year? Our facility is available for individual family use at this time. Simply complete an online reservation form here on our website and we'll call you back to verify availability and set it up for your family. Cost is $25 for unlimited access for your household. This fee must be paid at the time of reservation, but won't be processed on our end until we verify the date and time with you. Otherwise, our partners over at Space Walk of Columbus will bring the fun directly to your backyard. Visit their website to view their inventory and reserve a bounce house today.

Watch for exciting information coming soon!!!

UPDATE - April 2, 2020:
At this time, Columbus Event Center remains closed to the general public. In accordance with guidelines imposed by the state of Nebraska and recommended by health department officials, we continue to be restricted to a limit of ten people or less within the facility. Because of this, we are unable to resume sports league activities or public roller skating sessions at this time.

With the recent announcement that schools are to remain closed through the end of May, any hope of resuming our indoor soccer league sometime in April or even May is now in serious jeopardy. Because of this, we have decided to cancel the Spring indoor soccer season. All players who paid their registration fees will have them fully refunded. To those who paid for their registrations with a credit card online, we did not process any of the online payments already knowing there was uncertainty about the plans for COVID-19 and its potential impact on our leagues. Those online orders will be canceled in the near future, and there will not be a charge on any card. Depending on the situation in our area in May, we may hold a soccer event of some sort when the all clear is given.

Our roller hockey league will also cancel its Spring season which was scheduled to be completed in late April or early May. We may try to hold a short hockey season or event of some sort in late May or June depending on recommendations from area health department officials.

We continue to remain closed for public roller skating sessions. However, we will open our doors for individual families to use our facility with an advance reservation. Families will be screened prior to being granted access to the building. Only families with reservations will be allowed in during their scheduled time, with additional time between visitors to allow for disinfecting. Access will be limited to individual households only, so our facility is still not a place to go to meet friends, neighbors, or extended family. This will be offered until we can resume normal operations or the State of Nebraska declares additional restrictions for Platte County, at which time this will no longer be offered. See our previous update for details for scheduling a date at the rink.

With all of this extra downtime, we have had some free time to work on our new facility project. Expect to see an update to that fairly soon. We could all use a little good news at a time like this.

UPDATE - March 18, 2020:
There will be NO public roller skating sessions offered on March 20th, March 21st, March 27th, or March 28th. Public skate sessions scheduled for April 3rd and April 4th are currently still on as scheduled. However, we will be re-evaluating scheduled activities on a weekly basis, so please be sure to check back to this page and our social media for updates on roller skating.

Youth indoor soccer league will also be suspending play for the next two weeks. We will NOT meet on March 21st or March 28th, and will re-evaluate additional postponement or cancellations over the next couple of weeks. We will make up any skipped weeks at a later date once league play resumes. In the event a decision is made to cancel the season, all will receive a refund on the paid registration fees. We still have not processed online payments and have been waiting to do so until we know the season will resume. Anyone with questions about soccer or payment/refund status should contact Jason at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

While our youth hockey program can be divided into age groups small enough to allow continued play, we will be suspending the start of the hockey league by two weeks as well to evaluate the effects and spread of the disease in our area. There will be no roller hockey on March 23rd or March 30th, with a tentative date to resume of April 6th. If conditions at that time allow, we will restart the roller hockey program with additional restrictions to stay within health department guidelines and recommendations. Please watch for updates and details as we will re-evaluate each week.

Our adult dodgeball league has just one week left in the regular season. At this time, we will play the final week of the 'regular season' on March 24th as originally scheduled. Our plans for a larger end-of-the-season tournament open to the general public and league teams has been cancelled. We will communicate with teams on March 24th on any plans for our tournament week. Depending on conditions in our area at that time, the tournament week will either be cancelled altogether, or we will schedule a larger tournament at a later date when things clear up. All Winter league dodgeball teams would be allowed to participate at no additional charge.

At this time, our facility may be available for private rental, but with restrictions in place to ensure we are abiding by suggested health department guidelines and recommendations. Any private rental of the facility will be limited to immediate household only, and not as a place to meet friends. Any requests to use the facility should use our existing online reservation system. Online requests will ask for a $25 deposit, but your card payment will not be processed until we have contacted you to confirm availability. Once we have confirmed rental times, we will process the deposit payment, which will serve as your total cost for use of the facility at the agreed upon time. These deposits will be non-refundable, but we will work with you in the event a change needs to be made due to medical reasons or outside factors. In order to be able to serve the community, we will limit the amount of time to one hour sessions, and will conduct additional disinfecting between uses. Families will not be allowed to enter the building or wait indoors until their schedule time.

Our partner, Space Walk of Columbus will continue to serve events and activities that fall within the guidelines of local health officials. At this time, our priority will be serving individual family uses. Our bounce houses are disinfected with approved antiviral cleaners after every use (always), and are a great way to break up boredom at home during this time. We are more than happy to work with local schools and other organizations who need to postpone or reschedule their events that were impacted by coronavirus concerns. We are also interested in working with local schools with post proms that may be canceled at this time. Even if the event happens elsewhere and in the middle of summer, we're ready to provide the units you need for your post prom events. Just contact us as we'd love to help reorganize these events at a later date with your parents and schools.
